I am so excited to be part of the 5 out of 4 Fleece Pullover Blog Tour. Be sure to check out all the bloggers on the tour and their versions of this great pattern! Be sure to read down to the end to grab the coupon code for 30% off the 3 fleece pullover patterns!

If you haven't seen already, I helped test the Women's Ascent and Men's Sierra and was SO happy with the results. So when the option to blog about the kid's version came up, I was eager to get started! This is actually my 10th Pullover I've sewn from these 3 patterns.

2 for my husband.
1 for me
2 for my mom and dad
2 for my brother and his wife
2 for my other brother and his girlfriend

AND finally this is my 10th one, for my eldest daughter, the 5 out of 4 Kids' K2 Fleece Pullover

My daughter is a HUGE Dr. Who fan. I can't blame her. I've got a thing for The Doctor too. ;) She's been eyeing the Dr. Who fabric at Joann's for a LONG time. And one day she looked me dead in the eye and said, "Mom, if you don't buy this fabric and make me something I might die." Whew, talk about pressure! I can understand that feeling though. I've felt that way about fabric before and knew I just had to have it. So I used my coupon and brought home a single yard. I had no clue what it would be for, only that she had to have it or she would die! (Please note this may actually be a dramatization for your reading pleasure. ;) )

So when I got the pattern for this blog tour I knew, this fabric was the one. I knew that it would be the thing I would sew that would top all the things I had sewn her in the past. She might even cry! I just love the color block on this pattern and knew I wanted to color block it. But what fabric to use to coordinate? I was really happy to find that the scraps from my husband's pullover perfectly coordinated the Dr. Who fabric. And the diagonal plaid with the curved color block look amazing.

I actually ran into a problem with the pattern and went running to Jessica of 5 out of 4 and said there's a problem with the pattern. She was ready to panic! But I explained what I had happen and we talked each other off the cliff. There was not a problem with the pattern. BUT, chances are I probably should read the instructions, even if I think I know what I am doing. Whoops! Also, don't work on new projects after 11pm. Go to bed. Look at it with new, fresh eyes and don't scare your designer friends!

I just LOVE 5 out of 4 Patterns and it is an absolute joy working with Jessica. She really cares about the quality of her patterns and it shows. And the way she color blocks blows me away. A lesser designer would use the same basic "color block" on all 3 versions of the pattern, men's women's and kids. But instead she brought a completely different design with each one. And they all look great. The men's version is appropriately masculine. The women's version color block has a slimming effect. And the kids' version is so fun!

So what complaints do I have with this pattern? (You probably thought I wouldn't get there. ;) ) The pattern assembly image looks like a picture where the flash is too bright. Its viewable but its hard on the eyes. Seriously, that's it. I really like the pattern. The pieces fit together perfectly and the instructions are thorough.

This is absolutely a use over and over again pattern. And you really do need the trio. Of course as soon as it was done, my daughter put it on and hasn't taken it off since. She takes it off to change from her day clothes to her pajamas and then puts it over her pajamas. And then back again. One day I will have to wash it. She may declare it the "worst day of her life", as only kids can do. I'm ok with that, because it means that she really LOVES this pattern. And I do too.
