Today's post is about the new Max and Meena Max Joggers. I was given a copy of today's pattern in exchange for testing. As always, all opinions remain my own.

Its always such a pleasure to work again with a designer. They know what to expect from you and you know what to expect from them. So it was no surprise that we went into the pattern test blind, meaning no instructions. This isn't a problem at all for me, especially not with something so simple as a pair of pants. I did take the time to review the written instructions  before the release though and they look good to me.

My original test size was for my 3 year old. In all honesty, I don't know why I signed up for a pants test for her. She hates pants. LOL. After the early "fit" pictures, I haven't been able to get her to put her pants back on. She doesn't have anything against them particularly, only that they're pants. KIDS!

Thankfully, my eldest has just finished a series of growth spurts that left her with zero pants. Unless I want all her pants to look like capris, and I don't. When I told her I was going to sew her up a pair she said, "No. Those are baby pants." Definitely not baby pants. Kids, again! So I told her I was going to sew her these pants and she was going to like it. She was smart enough to just walk away.

I knew these pants were the perfect pants for her. She hates leggings. She only likes comfort and easy and cozy. Um, hello, that's what these pants are!

So I took out my favorite cotton/lycra from Purple Seamstress and got to work. I seriously order the black cotton lycra by the 10 yard bolt. It is by far my most used color and I can't live without it! And, if you contact Mel, she'll send you a copy of her cotton/lycra color card. That way you can color match to your fabric in the comfort of your own home. Mel is awesome and she doesn't even pay me to say it. :D

Now I am on a fabric buying freeze. I could have made these pants with more black cotton/lycra but that wouldn't be the least bit fun. So I scrounged through my stash and found this tiny piece of cotton/lycra from Euro Girls. I bought it about 2 years ago and couldn't have been happier. I love the quality from Euro Girls. The colors are super bright and retain their colors wash after wash. I've bought quite a few blenders from them too (dots, stripes, stars) and always been happy. So don't hesitate to "fancy up" your pants with some scraps.

Back to the actual pants. I finished the pants and told my daughter I was ready for a photo shoot. She gave me that look that said she would wear the pants for the photos but would then wad them up and stuff them in the back of her drawer. I laughed inside knowing she was SO SO wrong.

And then she was wearing the pants. Her eyes lit up and she said, "Mom, these are the perfect pants. I can stretch and move and they don't pinch pull or are tight anywhere." Yup, the perfect pants.

So the "perfect pants" come in size Premie through 14/16. I've been eyeing the pattern carefully, and I think I may actually fit in these pants! So being short isn't always a bad thing! The pattern can be made in knit, fleece and some testers even did flannel. I haven't sewn them in flannel just yet to tell you whether it works, but I'm definitely excited to try.
