True story, DH and I don't often go on "dates." When the kids go to grandma's on the weekend (and that has become more frequent lately) we mostly stay home and raid the fridge. Sometimes that means the best we can do is a bowl of cereal or a smoothie for dinner.

But we have been talking lately about taking a trip to Vegas for a weekend. Go see a show and enjoy the warm air because winter super sucks and even though I hate summer, I could use a reminder that winter won't last forever. Plus, random trips to Vegas are pretty inexpensive out of Denver and DH has airline points. I guess I'll be planning a weekend getaway. 😊

So step one for our super awesome Vegas trip definitely includes checking the weather. The highs are just short of 70 degrees, so it is the PERFECT wear what you want but bring a sweater weather.

With only a weekend, we would leave early Friday, and depart Vegas late Sunday. That means 5 outfits.
1 for travel/dinner, Friday Night
1 for walking "the strip" on Saturday during the day.
1 for our show (definitely Phantom of the Opera).
1 for brunch and travel.

None of these things really require a "fancy" outfit, but YOLO. To make this interesting, I tried to use only 1 designer for all my outfits! BUT, I hate store bought tights, so I knew I had to make my own. You'll notice that each outfit includes a Cocoon Cardigan. I don't wash layers after every wear, so let's see how few pieces I can sew to make this work!

Total items is: 12 pieces, with 3 different pairs of shoes, so 9 completed, sewn projects. 5 paid patterns and 2 free patterns. Nearly all possilbe with Patterns for Pirates! ***P4P does not have a tights pattern, so I used the Wolf and the Tree Gazelle Tights. They all mix and match horizontally and vertically. I couldn't figure out how to get my diagonals to fit, but I"m sure those could match too. To purchase ALL 5 patterns, it would cost $34.80 for p4p and $9 for the tights. That includes a 20% multi-pattern discount. Sounds like a great deal to me!

And of course, you can get all the fabric (except the lace, for now) from Simply By Ti!

For your viewing pleasure, my mix and match outfits are photographed below. Rows are how I would wear them for my weekend trip, but the columns make great looks too!

Row 1: Patterns for Pirates Cocoon Cardigan, Layer Me Up and Pencil Skirt

Row 2: Patterns for Pirates Cocoon Cardigan, Slim Fit Raglan and Peg Legs

Row 3: Patterns for Pirates Cocoon Cardigan, Sunshine Dress and The Wolf and the Tree Gazelle Tights

Row 4: Patterns for Pirates Cocoon Cardigan, Free Spirit Tank and Peg Legs

***Full disclosure. The Peg Legs don't actually fit my body shape. I used a different designer's free leggings. BUT, if Peg legs work for you, you can be all about the Pirate Love. ❤

Now for the best part! I've got a $20 store credit from Patterns for Pirates so you can recreate my capsule look! AND a copy of the Wolf and the Tree's Gazelle Tights for Women! Enter the Rafflecopter below! Rafflecopter will close on Thursday, February 16th.

  9. As entry to the contest, I'd have to say my favorite fabric at Simply by Tim would have to be "Rayon Spandex off white with black, brown taupe animal print". I secretly love Leopard print type fabric but full tan has always been a bit too bold to me. I've never actually seen that color combo for light/grey Leopard print and I love it! I think it'd make an adorable sweet tee with black cuffs. :)
