I want to thank 5 out of 4 for allowing me to test the Women's Ascent Pullover. All opinions remain my own.

With winter well on its way, you know this mama needs some warm layers. We keep our house crazy cold in the winter (big house, too expensive to keep really warm). And while I love my big, cozy fleece jacket, it doesn't say stylish or cute, just "OMG She's Freezing!"

The 5 out of 4 Women's Ascent Pullover is both stylish and warm! Now don't get me wrong, we're still talking about a pullover. This isn't business professional level, but it sure beats the look I had with sweatpants and my giant fleece jacket! The Ascent Pullover really shines in the color blocking! Once you add those accent pieces, the pattern gets imaginary shaping. Everyone I've seen with the color blocking looks instantly slimmer. WIN! And of course, it is sized so that you can fit at least 1 (if not more) layers underneath. The collar is fitted, so if you prefer a looser fit in the neck, be sure to grade out the "top" of the collar only just a tiny bit.

The best part of this pattern is the attention to measurements that is included in this pattern. Having the sleeve and bodice length measurements will help you get the right fit. Whether you have T-rex arms (like me) or gorilla arms (like my brother, LOL), you'll be able to easily adjust the pattern pieces because you'll know whether they'll be the right length even before you cut!

I opted for my version to keep the length in both the arms and the bodice. While I'm 5'1" with short arms, I wanted the extra length to keep me extra warm. ;) The full length of the sleeves gives me enough length to tuck my entire hand into my sleeve. I just don't like putting my hands in pockets, so this works best for me.

And, while I didn't sew up the nursing version, this is pure genius! I can't say how many times I had to nurse a baby outdoors and basically expose my entire midsection and be nearly freezing to death. SO COLD! The hidden nursing zips would have been quite the God send. If we have another baby, I'll definitely be sewing up this version!
