Nap Time Creations Slouchy Sweatshirt

I want to thank Nap Time Creations for allowing me to test the Slouchy Sweatshirt. All opinions remain my own.
The Nap Time Creations Slouchy Sweatshirt at first glance is a super simple top pattern. And don't get me wrong, it is SUPER simple. Once you've got the pattern assembled (and its a mere 12 pages!), actual sewing time is so fast. I finished my first one in under an hour and the second in less than that! The pattern as written is great for anyone EXCEPT inverted triangles. And of course, I'm an inverted triangle.
So why am I even writing this? Because sometimes you have to stop being so narrow minded about a pattern. I switched out the crew neckline for a scoop neckline by mashing up my favorite neckline from the Patterns For Pirates Layer Me Up. Instant love. Dropped shoulders actually help make inverted triangles look less top heavy. And this is so easy and comfy to wear.
This isn't a complex pattern and doesn't come with a ton of options. BUT, it is a great opportunity to play with different fabrics. From soft and drapey (like my photographed baby hacci) to heavier weight like a poly fleece, this pattern has you covered. And the different fabrics will give you a different look each time. Sew up your regular size for a fitted sweatshirt or size up for something more slouchy and loose.
The Slouchy Sweatshirt also is great for layering. Put it over your favorite button up shirt and suddenly you're looking very put together! Sew it up in a french terry and put it over a work out top. Now you're ready to hit the gym in style! AND, if you're looking for a simple cover up (like for the gym), sew it up without sleeves and just do a banded arm hole (not included in the pattern). Now when you're working out you are comfortable, stylish AND covered.
