40 Garments In 40 Days: Week 1 Day 2
10:00 AMToday is the second post in the first week of my 40 garments in 40 days series and this is going to be HUGE. Every Tuesday and Wednesday for the next 6 weeks (42 days) I will have a blog post with giveaways. EVERY SINGLE POST. Each week will showcase 7 garments mixed and matched to create little mini capsules. As we go along I will be showing you how I've used all PDF patterns to create a stylish wardrobe for my daughter. You'll notice that each week has a few pieces that mix and match. As we go along, you'll see that even more pieces can be used interchangeably. I'll do my best to share little sudoku's of how all these pieces work together.
I've got so many giveaways that you'll want to check in every post, so don't miss any. To keep you up to date, the beginning of each post will include a series of links back to all the other posts.
So if you missed our first post, check out 40 Garments in 40 Days Week 1 Day 1 and don't forget to enter the giveaway!
Ok, so what have we got in week 1?
Bella Sunshine Designs Bow Tie Leggings
Hailey Bug's Closet Perfect Puzzle Set
Jocole Circle Flounce Dress
Patterns for Pirates Jolly Rogger Raglan
Rabbit Rabbit Creations Petal Shorts
and a nice freebie from Rebel and Malice, the Paper Bag Skirt.
We've already talked about the HBC PPS, Jocole Circle Flounce and the Rebel and Malice Paper Bag Skirt. Today we've got:
The Hailey Bug's Closet Perfect Puzzle Set as a t-shirt with an awesome star applique on it! Feel free to use the search button to see more of my creations with this pattern. I got a Silhouette Cameo for Christmas and slowly but surely I'm learning all the cool ways to use it with fabric. I LOVE how this star applique turned out . Its fun but not babyish. Something my daughter is starting to worry about now.
And of course what wardrobe is complete without leggings? Today's Sponsor Bella Sunshine Designs has kindly offered a free copy of her Bow Tie Leggings to one of my lucky readers. Now this pair is a super simple gray french terry. Nothing fancy but perfect for pairing with just about everything (did you see them peaking out from under the HBC PPS yesterday?). But if those don't have you sold, I'll be sewing up several more to help complete her spring and summer wardrobe so you'll want this pattern. Need to hear more? Check out this blog post during their Birthday Celebration last week. And for those who missed the sale and don't want to wait to find out if they win, ALL my readers can get their copy for just $5! Last on the list here is the Rabbit Rabbit Creations Petal Shorts. I made these out of a simple jegging knit and some fun FOE I had stashed up from diaper making. This pattern is supposed to be for wovens, but I knew the crotch curve wasn't quite right. These aren't my favorite and you can read more here. :( But honestly, I couldn't expect to love everything and its ok if I don't. My daughter loves them and they'll coordinate with a bunch of stuff so that's good enough for me.

Cute, cute, cute.
ReplyDeleteCute, cute, cute.
ReplyDeleteLooks like my first comment didn't go through...my girls are 5 and they wear leggings just about every day! I made them 9 full-length pairs for the fall/winter, and I think they'll n need about a dozen in shorts or capri length for spring/summer. Love that the BSD pattern has different fits, what a great option to include.
ReplyDeleteI'm loving your series so far!
ReplyDeleteI think we'd love slim fit regular length
ReplyDeleteThe full length leggings but I am trying the capri's because they are so darn cute.
ReplyDeleteThis is fun!
