Happy Raglan Thursday to you! I'm so excited to be bringing you another edition of the Women's Raglan Review Blog Tour. When you get ALL the way to the bottom, you'll see our very full schedule. The permalinks are all there, so just wait for the right day and the links will be live. Be sure to click over to The Art Of Oh to see her Raglan Thursday review too! The P4P Raglan is a great, comfy, cozy, sweatshirt type raglan. Loose, comfy, cozy equals a great one for Fall, Winter and Spring. I made 2 of these! They're actually from BEFORE I decided to do this great Raglan Tour, so it didn't take me any extra sewing time to share 2 versions with you, since these were already done.

Version number 1 is a fabulous sweater knit that I grabbed from Joann's on the red tag table. I just LOVE this one. Its warm and fuzzy and awesome. I used the cowl on this one because I knew the drape would be fantastic. I was right.

Version number 2 is a cotton lycra from Purpleseamstress with a floral ponte from Girl Charlee. I actually modified this one a bit and put in a small placket at the neckline. I wish I had made the placket bigger. :( A nice deep placket would have turned this into the perfect hoodie for me. Please note I used the instructions from one of my many henley patterns to make the placket. I should have just made it deeper. I'm too lazy to pick it out, but it is definitely on my mind for next time.

With the shape of this pattern, I don't think it looks very good in cotton lycra. It is just too heavy and firm to get the nice drape you need for a good silhouette. Another good option though is a good firm sweatshirt fleece. Just keep in mind that it is going to make it look very boxy because of the minimal drape in the pattern.

Who needs this pattern? Anyone that is looking for a really loose comfy raglan. If you want to use something super drapey (like a hacci knit) OR boxy like a sweatshirt fleece. The add on back is a great addition to the pattern. AND you can use the add on pack for either the Raglan or Slimfit Raglan. That definitely gives it extra value. Be sure to check back next week at The Art of Oh to see the review for the Patterns for Pirates Slim Fit Raglan.

And, it just so happens that our P4P raglan review falls right into their 15,000 Member Celebration! So hop on over to the Patterns for Pirates Facebook Group to grab your coupon code to save on their raglan patterns AND anything else you might love.
