This is my "Guy". He doesn't know his real name yet. He thinks his name is either Guy, Mister Guy, Baby Guy, or Mister Baby Guy. He's really cute, and we love him, a LOT.

But you know what he doesn't love. He doesn't love sewing. I take that back, he has zero feelings about sewing. He has feelings about mommy holding him. And not in one of those slings either. ONLY her arms.

Holding babies in your arms makes it REALLY difficult to sew. BUT, this will be my 10th year sewing costumes for my kids and I definitely don't want to miss it. So today's pattern round up is a list of simple patterns that include options that easily translate to costumes. And the best part is, you can continue wearing them AFTER Halloween is over. At least I think so.

My favorite, super fast costume always has and always will be hats. And Tie Dye Diva has you covered with the Animal Ears Fleece Hat Pattern. I made this super cute lion hat from this pattern 6 years ago! While the lion isn't included in the pattern, it only takes a few pieces of fringe to recreate this look.

Up next is my most favorite kids' pattern of all time Max and Meena All Ears Hoodie. I have
made a LOT of these hoodies. And the best part is, my kids wear them over and over and over again! There are a ton of animal options, so you could be making costumes for years! I've made this in cotton lycra, french terry, poly fleece (definitely size up) and minky. Minky is definitely a favorite here, but I always sneeze out minky fluff for like a week after sewing minky, so be forewarned!

If you're wanting the full "bodysuit" look, you can't go wrong with the Rad Patterns Cosplay Suit. There are now even 2 versions, 1.0 and 2.0 (more slouchy). My kids love these just for lounging around the house, but they make great costumes too of course. I've also used it for baby zip up jammies, so a great investment no matter what.

And, if you're just really short on time and browsing through your patterns, you might already have the Patterns for Pirates Wingman Shirt. What's not to love about these cute little wings on this t-shirt?
